Washington, D.C., August 21, 2008 — On Sunday, August 24th from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm, the Asian American Action Fund and co-hosts the Colorado AAPI Democrats, Asian Pacific Americans for Progress, DNC Vice Chair Congressman Mike Honda, and Obama for America AAPI Vote Team will be holding an AAPI Colorado Summit at the Democratic Convention. Doors open at 12:00 pm for networking, and the program begins at 1:00 pm. This event is open to public.

The Summit will feature local Colorado and national community leaders and activists in an interactive session focusing on AAPI participation in the electoral process, the Obama AAPI Vote Team Toolkit, critical issues and policies of the AAPI community, and the AAPI Voter messaging.

The AAA-Fund is a national Democratic political organization whose goal is to increase the voice of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in local, state and federal government, by encouraging AAPIs to volunteer on campaigns, raise money for candidates, and run for political office.
