1. Day One: Carville, Boston & Survivor
AAA-Fund Blog DNC correspondent scored an exclusive interview with James Carville, the mastermind behind Bill Clinton's 1992 victory. Asked what slogan Barack Obama should adopt, Carville had a pithy response: "It's REALLY the economy, stupid!"
Following Carville, we caught up with two top APA leaders: Boston City Councilor Sam Yoon and lawyer, entrepreneur and Survivor winner Yul Kwon. Hear what these young politicians had to say about the underrepresentation of APIAs in politics, Korean Americans, and challenges of running for office.
2. Day Two: CA Controller John Chiang
Controller John Chiang serves as the highest APIA elected official in the great state of CA. Saying that APIAs have not reached their full potential in politics, Chiang remains optimistic that APIAs represent a "new leadership." View Chiang's entire interview, which includes comments on CA's current fiscal crisis and why he supports Obama for President.
3. Day Three: Actress/Activist Tamlyn Tomita
You might recognize her from the Karate Kid, Joy Luck Club, General Hospital, and 24. Actress and political activist Tamlyn Tomita speaks to AAA-Fund on behalf of APIA Vote to share her excitement about the new fervor of youth in politics, inspired by Obama's campaign. Tamlyn urges all people to vote regardless of party affiliation and to further strengthen our democracy by recognizing the work of past generations in politics.
